During my career break I formed a property business investing in residential family let properties and enrolled on a property training course aimed at those wishing to build a portfolio of properties.

 In this position:Full accountability for preparing, submitting, and auditing annual Group Statutory accounts and directing financial control and reporting. Led team of eleven Group Finance staff responsible for recruitment, performance and mentorship. Cultivated close and productive relationships with key stakeholders. Directed all aspects of financial operations. Following are highlights of my key achievements that I attained:• Successfully delivered the significant assignments from the outgoing Baird Group CEO, namely Group Board reporting and Group cashflow management.• Managed the successful transition and establishment of new defined trading entities within the Group. • Led the planning and implementation of the Baird Group accounts migration on to the Group accounting software platform. • Influenced key involvement in driving significant rebates from suppliers and increasing margins through initiation and execution of supplier rebate program. • Secured large R&D tax credits for the business through close collaboration with tax specialists. • Saved tens of thousands of costs renegotiating terms for invoice discounting. • Devised best financial practices and formulated internal growth business plans in conjunction with the Group Board and Company MD’s. • Determined and solved H&S related matters and reported to all Group Companies.• Employer nominated Trustee for DB pension scheme.

 In my past role:Directed a wide spectrum of financial operations and ensured continued certification for multiple standards acting as head of compliance. Played a significant role as Member of Board team to ensure smooth running and execution of acquisitions and due diligence procedures. Fostered productive and valuable rapport with MD and key stakeolders. Delivered strategic direction and leadership on producing annual budgets. Prepared detailed reports on performance of contract on annual basis for the client as Member of MOD contract management team.Following are highlights of my key achievements that I attained:• Gained highest level promotion to CDS Board as Finance Director in Jan 2011 for outstanding performance. Boosted business turnover from £5m to £40m serving as key member of senior management team. • Minimised monthly reporting time frames by developing more streamlined reporting routines and forecasting model as well as preparing monthly reporting pack for the Board. • Secured the Company’s biggest ever contract for provision of print management services to the MOD by playing key role as member of the bid presentation team. • Originated invoice discounting with the bank that optimised working capital availability. • Led team set up to turn around performance of an ailing book publishing subsidiary transforming finance and returning it to profit within a three-year time frame.


