Guy Jones Email and Phone Number
I am an energetic, creative executive that has been driven by service to others over the past 30 years. I grew up in Texas after my father left the military just after I was born. I was driven to attend college to expand my options and passions. While in high school, I was selected to attend college after my sophomore year, through a new program known as the Texas Academy of Math and Science. After completing my high school diploma with 2 years of college credit, I went to Texas A&M and earned my Nuclear Engineering Degree. While at Texas A&M, I joined the Texas National Guard to help pay for college and found my passion to serve others could be fulfilled through leadership interactions and values within the Army, which aligned to my own. While in the Army, I led organization of various sizes from 36 individuals up through about 25,000. Many of these assignments were under the stress of combat as I have spent more than six years deployed for combat. These assignments required a high degree of ingenuity as there was not a proven method to succeed and most of the tasks were not within the scope of training. I had to learn to integrate and maximize all types of capabilities rapidly such as agriculture, engineering, construction, government, education, humanitarian assistance, and city management. Many of assignments were in a planning, synchronization, and resourcing role for organizations as large as 50,000 people. After spending 30 years building teams and coaching individuals to achieve success, I am transitioning to another career. I am excited to apply my strategic planning experience and systems engineering affinity to a new industry and career. Just like other challenges I have faced throughout my life, I know this next job will not be easy as I will need to learn quickly and accept coaching from others. Although my vast experience might be from a different industry, it is still applicable to many situations outside the military. For example, in my last two jobs, I recognized the opportunity to adjust processes to capture an increase in fiscal resources to then apply to our highest priority problems to the tune of $10 and $26 million dollars, respectively. I am excited and ready of for the next career opportunity as I am still the same driven individual that chose the path of selfless service, was promoted ahead of peers at every opportunity, led diverse teams in the stress and hardships of combat multiple times, and synchronized the operations of a team of teams that had more than 50,000 members across various organizations.
