With over 25 years of experience in biotechnology and pharmacology, I am a scientific leader and innovator in the field of flavor modulators discovery and development. I lead a multidisciplinary team of biologists, electrophysiologists, chemists, and sensory scientists at dsm-firmenich. I have been involved in the discovery and development of close to 20 novel flavor modulators and sensates.My core competencies include small molecule discovery, R&D leadership, people and project management, target identification and validation, high-throughput screening, lead optimization support, and laboratory operations. I have been directly involved in the successful discovery and development of several novel breakthrough flavor modifiers, using my expertise in GPCRs and ion channels, the key biological targets involved in taste and trigeminal sensation. I am also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Escient Pharmaceuticals, where I consult on pre-clinical R&D approaches and strategies for specific GPCR targets involved in neurosensory-inflammatory diseases. I am passionate about applying my scientific knowledge and skills to create novel solutions that enhance the quality of life and health of consumers.
