As the Founder and Executive Director of the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint (AASR), I lead a national movement to end the harmful and abusive practices of restraint and seclusion in schools. With over 20 years of experience in web development, user experience, and education, I leverage my skills and knowledge to create engaging and informative digital platforms, resources, and campaigns that educate the public and connect people who share our mission and vision.AASR was founded in 2019, after I witnessed the devastating impact of seclusion on my own son and learned about the widespread and systemic use of these practices across the country. The Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) is a regional partnership that leads and directs Chesapeake Bay restoration and protection. Bay Program partners include federal and state agencies, local governments, non-profit organizations and academic institutions. As the Director of Web Development, I am responsible for the vision, oversight, and implementation of partnership web products including:• Work with the CBP partnership, Communications Workgroup, and the Leadership and Management Goal Implementation Team to determine the overall direction for partnership websites and web-based products to support the goals and outcomes of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.• Advise the Chesapeake Bay Program Office’s leadership through the Web Steering Committee to prioritize work plans and on how to ensure key messages are being effectively tailored and communicated to targeted stakeholder groups.• Oversee and direct the assessment of user needs for the CBP partnership web products, provide direction to the User Experience Analyst who will document and vet those needs to the partnership via the Management Board and/or relevant CBP teams and workgroups. • Lead the Web Team in the analysis and refinement of requirements for websites, website features, web-based applications and mobile products through the application of user experience (UX) research techniques.• Oversee and direct the design, development and content strategy of websites and web-based products that support the needs of the Management Board and Goal Implementation Teams, by providing oversight and direction to the Web Team including Web Developers, Web Designer, Content Strategist and User Experience Analyst. This oversight includes providing daily direction to members of the team as well as coaching and career support. -
