I have a passion for all things financial reporting and controls, and an auditor at heart. I started my career with PwC Australia in 2005. I moved to London with the firm in 2008 where I was a Director. I led large audit teams and was personally responsible for signing statutory audit opinions under IFRS and FRS102, working across a range of clients from FTSE100, FPI dual US / UK listed and social purpose third sector clients. I also acted as a Head of Internal Audit and delivered various advisory reviews including accounting advice, process reviews, regulatory investigations, data quality, governance reviews and defined procedure assurance reviews. I moved into industry in June 2021, joining one of my former clients, Hyde Group as the Financial Reporting Director. In this role I was responsible for all management and statutory reporting including reporting directly to the Board and Audit Committee. In August 2024, I moved into my current role as the Director of Operational Finance at University College London (UCL), where I’m responsible for statutory reporting, policy and controls, tax and insurance. I report to the CFO and Audit Committee. I was previously the Chair of the Housing SORP Working Party and a member of the Social Housing Sub-Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. I'm a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia & New Zealand), and formally a Registered Statutory Auditor (Responsible Individual) and a Chartered Internal Auditor (Institute of Internal Auditors). Outside of work, my wife and I have rescue greyhounds, I try to do CrossFit (badly!) most evenings to stay healthy and love getting out on the motorbike (midlife crisis has kicked in) or taking my 60s VW Beetle for a drive on sunny weekends.
