Working in collaboration with the internal IT department, I developed a new market insights system for MASTA. This allowed the company to look at travel market dynamics and travel and vaccine product sales in a visual/geographic way, and resulted in a revised strategy for UK clinic placements.

Interim Manager - GSK Business Insights Manager - Urology (May - Dec 2009) Based in the Madrid office of GSK, my remit was to lead all aspects of Business Insight for the Global Urology Marketing team. This role included managing the Indian based secondary data analysis team, Competitive Intelligence, as well as several primary market research projects with external agencies to deliver actionable information for the development of the Duodart launch strategy.

Leading a team of 8 to develop marketing plans for key products in the R&D pipeline. The team was responsible for the market and competitor information gathering, synthesis and presentation as well as product forecasting. This role required close liaison with multiple functions, with a global scope and significant interaction with the USA marketing and development teams.As part of this role I was also responsible for the development, implementation and leading of a new marketing planning process for GE Healthcare. The aim of the process was the linking of R&D with country based sales team, to plan for the future needs of the market, and the introduction of new products.

During my first 18 months at Amersham I was a key member of the DatScan relaunch team, successfully repositioning the product to go on to become Europe's most successful nuclear medicine diagnostic test.I joined GE Healthcare (then Amersham International) in the European Marketing department with the following objectives:1. To impact and improve decision making in Amersham Health Europe.2. Help to introduce a “marketing mentality”.3. Be viewed as the best market & competitor information supply available, to be utilised by brand managers.4. Develop easy access to good quality market information in Europe wide systems.Following success in these areas I was promoted to the role of Director – Global Business Insights within the Amersham organisation, with responsibility for a team of 14 based in the UK, USA and Norway.

Business Insights Director - Switzerland (2001 - 2002)Assignment to set up a Commercial Analysis department in the Swiss operating company, and integrate its activities throughout the commercial structure. Commercial Analysis focussed on 4 key areas which were metrics, competitive intelligence, opportunity evaluation (forecasting) and primary market research. I had 2 direct reports in this position.European Commercial Analysis Manager - Metabolic (1999 - 2001)As part of this cross functional matrix team, I lead market research, competitive intelligence and product forecasting projects for Avandia (Diabetes) and Lotronex (IBS). This role built on many of the specialist skills that I had developed whilst working in the Global Commercial Analysis department.Global Business Analysis – Global Marketing (1996 - 1999)My key responsibilities within the Global Marketing department included therapy area and product forecasting as well as the development of tools for late stage R&D portfolio evaluation, and project prioritisation within the Discovery portfolio.
