About Gustavo Valdivia
Most of my professional experience is based on ethnographic research in Andean indigenous communities in Peru. My intellectual work is mainly characterized by a strong interdisciplinary approach that rigorously combines theoretical and methodological elements of environmental anthropology and social theory - based on dialogue and prolonged interaction in the field - with the tools of modern environmental science. Thus, in my academic work I have sought to create a horizontal and democratic dialogue that articulates the voices of indigenous peoples whose lives and lands have been affected by recent trends of global change - including the expansion of the market economy and state infrastructure, and environmental change - with those of the scientists and social thinkers who have led the most innovative research on the subject.
Listed skills include Climate Change, Andean Studies, Intercultural Relations, Mountain Ecosystems, and 8 others.
