Chief Conservator of GV Art Conservation, a private fine art conservation and restoration studio in NYC. In addition to my duties at GV Art Conservation, I co-created the Conservation Department for Art Basel with Samuel Keller in 2002 with the intention of providing emergency care for all artworks displayed for sale. Since that time, I have continued to serve as the Preferred Conservator at Art Basel in Miami Beach, and serve in similar positions at The Armory Show and Frieze NY. My task is to help create the best possible condition for all artworks displayed for sale by providing galleries, collectors and artists with timely conservation and restoration services, consultation, condition reports and art care advise throughout the duration of the shows as well as throughout the year. Experiences include, but are not limited to:- Providing scientific testing and diagnosis for artistic works.- Aiding numerous treatment decisions for implementation of art exhibits in collaboration with art show directors, architects, production managers, artists and leading galleries worldwide. - Assisting artists to implement and follow conservation ethics for longevity and preservation of artworks- Training of employees/artists involved in the production of the artworks.- Working with Management & Board of Directors to set long-term conservation and care strategies for exhibits worldwide.- Consulting insurance companies on the protection and care of art collections for their private client groups.- Traveling worldwide to perform conservation treatments on premises for galleries, museums, auction houses and private collections with the intention of preventing potential damage to artworks during transportation.
