Worked with different business units, using different kind of technologies, as part of rotation program in Barclays Capital. For the first rotation, I worked on an equities trading system, which was based on service-oriented architecture and deals with high volume trading. I helped in writing many new components for the system and worked on the new architecture to facelift the aging software. For my second rotation, I worked with a small team, which primarily deals with in-memory database for fixed income trade data. I helped in re-writing of the system from group up for performance improvement and to incorporate new corporate messaging middleware in the system. As my last rotation, I was involved in developing a corporate web portal, which is used by investment bankers.

Developed modified version of quadratic programming algorithm for pattern searching in DNA.

Built foundation for a new Java based web service to keep track of all the historical position for a risk management system, which will be used for historical data analysis and for firm-wide trade position bookkeeping. I also initiated the long-term motivation of migrating from proprietary middleware messaging technologies to open standards like SOAP.
