1. Generate design concepts and detailed design of parts contributing to mechanical and structural rigidity of battery pack.2. Define pack and cell requirements, and find the best options for product volume, weight, and run-time requirements.3. Generate design concepts and detailed design of parts that attribute to thermal management of cells and BMS4. Conduct design reviews and, after successful validation, release the design to sample stage.5. Assist the electrical team with creating battery packs for evaluating various electrical, mechanical and thermal failure modes6. Qualify anode, cathode, electrolyte materials and new electrode compositions in cylindrical cells.7. Lead the development and execution of events to enable the capture and evaluation of objective evidence to ensure that specific requirements have been fulfilled and that specific requirements for a specified intended use have been fulfilled. Events should leverage best practices with regard to the type of event:demonstration, modeling and simulation, test, trial, etc.8. Developing strategic vision and long-term objectives for department, and support development of strategies for Global Engineering functions. Performing lithium ion battery life cycle testing(pack & cell level) for estimating factors such as capacity drop, batterywarranty SOC estimation, deaeration, aging and debugging issues with the battery pack in test.
