I was responsible for end-to end technical lead role for the Ads and Data Systems Team – Production Engineering Department with Yahoo SDC from October 2013 to July 2015. This team was responsible formanaging thousands of RHEL/FreeBSD UNIX hosts which is quintessential for delivering theadvertiser data related to Yahoo Search and Display Ads in a timely manner to all thedownstream (internal) customers besides providing the business reports on-time every time to allthe end (external) customers of Yahoo Inc. Worked on a HTTP based event collection platform which helps carrying a large number real time events. Reviewed the technical architecture in addition to developing and implementing its set-up from scratch. Successfully migrated the Apollo pipeline (search data pipeline) from the legacy Lotus-based scheduling mechanism to the Oozie-based scheduling mechanism. In the process, gained the service engineering best practices in addition to processes for data center, grid, networking setup, and new hardware provisioning.Implemented several optimizations after identifying performance issues and bottleneck structures. Worked on Hadoop, Oozie, PIG, and grid-based distributed data processing tools. Designed, implemented, and supported the production operations of the Apollo Data Systems pipeline, which was related to the Yahoo-Microsoft (MSFT) strategic partnership on Yahoo Search. Interacted with the MSFT team to ensure the post-deployment and run-time/performance issueswere resolved immediately.

Was part of the team that designed and implemented the Panama DataSystems Pipeline using a 100’s of RHEL/FreeBSD hosts. The Panama Data Systems Pipelinewas the legal data processing pipeline of Yahoo Search data. Worked as a critical resource tothe project and was involved in the production reviews and design of the pipeline architectureand built the primary and secondary pipelines and the service level agreements (SLAs) close to 100% by way of resource optimizations. Designed, implemented, and managed the operations ofDATA replication between primary and BCP pipelines, which created the business dataprotection mechanism. Furthermore, designed and developed the several critical Monitoringtools for the data pipelines using the UNIX/Perl/PHP libraries.
