After 18 years of working in Marketing across the construction, charity, and publishing industries, I experienced time and time again how team dynamics and workplace culture far outweigh the most sophisticated strategies in terms of their impact on the organisation’s performance. I initially set up Dare to Thrive as a way to meet the growing need for leadership training that goes beyond the textbook and straight to the heart of why highly skilled and motivated people struggle in positions of power (and why those for work them find themselves overwhelmed and stressed out by their work). I specialise in empowerment that acknowledges the roots of disempowerment - the complexities of power, trauma, and the lack of diversity and awareness in many professional trainings - and the healthy use of boundaries and consent in thriving workplaces.

Head Of Product Marketing, Data & Analytics SolutionsSpringer Nature May 2017 - May 2021United KingdomMy team was a key enabler to the company's success with its Data and Analytics portfolio, and a close partner to Sales, Product Development, IT/Production, and UX teams. We offered a full pre- and post-sales service for the products globally, from attracting new users to key account management. I led a major restructure taking the function from a product-aligned “support team” to high performing and commercially-aligned. This included intensive change management within the team, addressing stakeholder objections and concerns, and securing additional budget. Core skills employed:- Strategic vision: My ability to find a path forward through complexity, create a vision or strategy and implement it, making necessary changes along the way. This included collaborating and co-leading cross-functional or cross-departmental strategic initiatives that go beyond the normal remit of Marketing. - Agile Marketing: We were the first team within the company to implement these methodologies. - Building a Thrive culture: making ownership, transparency and high-performance the norm within the team.- Emotional intelligence: This makes me effective when navigating uncertainty or conflict, and skilled at understanding and influencing the emotional state of a group. About the division: The research solutions utilise machine learning and other advanced technologies to translate static content into connected, interactive intelligence. The portfolio includes unique, market-leading, and well-established solutions from materials and nanoscience, to pharmacology and biomedicine. -
