I started my career as a software developer back in 1996, at Natura Cosméticos, a Brazilian cosmetic company based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.My entrepreneurial spirit pushed me to quickly seek new challenges, exploring emerging technologies such as web development and grid computing. A few years later I founded a software factory called Xybergate and rapidly built a portfolio of clients from different industries, one of which was Travel and Transportation.In early 2000 we detected a business opportunity in the travel industry and developed an internal project called e-Turismo. It was a web site where we would publish travel content from Argentina and offer to travel agencies an online marketplace to publish their products.While promoting this web site I met two guys with the idea of making a web platform to distribute long distance bus tickets. They offered me to be part of the project, and we co-founded Plataforma 10. Xybergate became the IT department of Plataforma 10, were we developed the initial version of the software and started operations on July 2001.Like in modern disruptive technologies, during the first years of Plataforma 10 we had to deal with several technological and cultural challenges, as bus companies were not familiar with e-commerce and Internet connectivity was not 100% reliable for online operations.As of today, I am the head of the IT department of Plataforma 10. In this department we have several teams focused on developing and maintaining the entire software platform used daily by thousands of users across Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia and Perú.For more information on Plataforma 10, visit www.plataforma10.com.
