About Gary Walsh
As an educator, my life has been enriched by assisting students reach their college and career goals. I developed strong personal relationships with these students centered on their academic requirements and personal needs. Where one student was concerned with ever finishing ESL instruction, that student has now gone on to work in a major Boston-based media production firm. Another student, fleeing from drug cartels, went on to work in the Social Services field. To aid such students, I provided a mixture of supplementary instruction, mentorship, and finding funding opportunities for the underprivileged. None of this would have been possible if I didn’t have compassion and a genuine interest in what I was doing. As an ethnographer and researcher, I underwent rigorous ethics certification and reviews to pursue field research overseas. I am proficient in Japanese and have striven towards fostering intercultural understanding between the US and Japan for 25 years in both my personal and professional life. My work has been published in peer reviewed journals and I am the only author to use anthropological approaches towards understanding the role NPOs play in the US-Japan relationship. As a designer, my accomplishments demonstrate that I am a self-starter and highly motivated individual—traits that I apply in the workforce. I am a seasoned photographer, graphic artist, and game development entrepreneur. My work has been featured in art galleries, records, and on the cover of published works. I take pride in my creativity and professionalism and constantly seek to expand and improve my passion to create.
