Unharm is a not-for-profit drug law reform campaigning organisation focusing on building momentum to encourage sensible drug policies. Right now we're focusing on young people, particularly within universities, with the aim of educating them about drug policy issues and encouraging them to push for change.

The Foundation was established in 1993. Its charter for reform attracted membership from academic, legal, medical, political, religious and community sectors. Edited User’s News, one of the leading drug user magazines in the world. Funded by the NSW Government to promote harm reduction among injecting drug users, the magazine was well known and loved for its drug user stories (and probably has the largest repository of such stories in the world). It was editing User's News that gave me my passionate interest in drug law reform (because you couldn't do that job and not conclude that the war on drugs was just about the worst idea of the 20th Century).As well as editing this great publication, I became immersed in drug policy work, representing NUAA on many committees and advisory boards (including the Medically Supervised Injecting Centre Community Consultation Committee, the NSW Government Justice Health Community Reference Group and the Of Substance Editorial Review Group).I also did a lot of media during my time at NUAA, and was regularly approached for my opinion on drug issues for national radio and television.I attended numerous international conferences while at NUAA, including the International Harm Reduction Conference in Beirut in 2011. Produced Larry Labrat, an 18-episode animated comedy microseries about an orange rodent named Larry and his adventures in and around a scientific research facility.I made this independently with writers and directors Sam Reed, Josh Reed and Nigel Christensen. The series was amongst the first video content to be distributed on mobile phones (as well as on public transport within Sydney and the web more generally).
