Originally from Albany, NY I now live in the D.C. Metro region near the Occoquan River. After two decades in church world I transitioned into management consulting and organizational development. Over my career I've had the opportunity to work in many different environments and was blessed with great mentors at a young age. At one time I was the youngest manager ever (19) in one company. Through out my career, regardless of where I worked I was consistently promoted and given increasingly more responsibilities.Several things I've learned, or better, I've become convinced of...• The work environment is the ideal place to mature, grow, and develop.• Skills are easier to develop then character, but character is far more important.• People are unique and few realize the implications of that uniqueness.• The best people never stop growing. • Money is not the primary lever for discretionary effort.• The human spirit is resilient.• The leader and the manager make all the difference.
