About G Wei Ng, Ph.D.

I am a licensed psychologist with much-commendable work ethic and versatile experience in strategic planning, implementing, and evaluating diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), focused on programming through a mental health lens, in addition to being a skilled clinician with extensive experience in clinical, outreach & consultation, training & supervision. I am a mental health professional and social justice activist who dedicates my work to support healing and thriving, cultivate empowerment and liberation of minoritized communities through individual-level and institutional-level interventions. I'm invested in improving the mental health literacy of marginalized communities and building community partnerships. I adopt an equity and justice-minded approach to outreach and advocacy work by centering the needs of the most underserved communities. I'm skilled in conducting DEIJ needs assessment, translating innovative ideas into deliverables, fostering a supportive and non-shaming learning environment that supports introspection and development of cultural sensitivity and humility amongst staff, thereby creating sustainable impact on organizational culture by ensuring diversity and social justice principles become ingrained into how we operate as a system and as individuals.Being a certified Intergroup Dialogue Facilitator as well as a process group facilitator/supervisor well equips me with the necessary skills set and experience to navigate and facilitate difficult (and often emotionally charged) conversations around issues of privilege and oppression.I am a conscious individual who is not afraid of speaking truth to power in a respectful manner and acts in alignment with my personal and professional values. I'm also regarded by others as an amiable person with a reputation of conscientious, passionate, kind, empathetic, courageous, dedicated, and highly resilient. I am a life-long learner who sees cultural competency as a never-ending journey, thus constantly learning, un-learning, and re-learning. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my son, traveling, and trying out locally-owned, small businesses (specifically coffee shops and bakeries).
