"Gwen is the kind of person you find in a record shop, combing through the covers looking for it – the hidden gem amongst all other albums that she’ll listen through from start to finish."When I started at Tufts University, we had started phasing out the term “quirky” for “intellectually curious”. And while I won’t shy away from my quirkiness, I am always excited to search for the next thing that I can wholeheartedly explore from start to finish.In college, I dove into a degree in sustainability and food systems after reading a 50+ page paper on small scale cheese operations in the United States. I grew fascinated by the biological anthropology associated with our diets in the same semesters that I utilized programs like RStudio to analyze the economics behind the lobster phenomenon. Off campus, I found my niche in the community-based Tufts Mountain Club, where I oversaw our offsite cabin in the White Mountains and managed a team of 100+ volunteers weekly. I utilized my project management skills to begin new initiatives at the club to make the outdoors more accessible, while also setting up a framework to prepare the next generation of leaders who stepped through the Loj’s doors.In the office, I would describe my habits as anything besides stagnant. I seek out new mentors and trainings in order to find a new skill or habit to implement in my work. I live by the philosophy that the biggest ‘Development’ in my Sales Development role will be my personal growth.
