I conduct behavioral coding on a study that investigates the early signs of autism spectrum disorder for infants - children 3 years of age. I am also going to eventually conduct training to be a visit assistant, where I would visit families on site to assist with data collection. I collaborate with a small team regarding coding practices, and we meet at least once a week to discuss findings.This position involves the use of onedrive, microsoft excel, and microsoft word. Before beginning the position, I completed training through the state of South Carolina that focused on conducting ethical research.As both a statistics and psychology major, this position allows me to utilize principles from moth of these degree pathways.

I serve as a Resident Assistant (RA) in the Honors Residence Hall at the University of South Carolina. I serve on-call several times a month to respond to safety concerns, maintenance issues, and resident needs. In addition, I plan, create advertising campaigns, coordinate material acquisition, and collaborate with other RAs to host various events for my residents throughout each month. These events, such as hall decorating, stress relieving coffee and chat sessions, teaching tips for healthy roommate relationships, and cowboy hat decorating are meant to foster a sense of community, encourage personal wellbeing in the dorm, and aid in residential social awareness.I oversee the transition and support of 32 first-year students (Co-Ed). This includes completing check-ins throughout the semester to understand their academic pathway and mental health, as well as supporting them through acclimating to living away from home, starting college classes, and navigating social atmospheres. This position involves me utilizing Microsoft Office (excel, word, powerpoint) and Canva. It requires working in groups, conflict-resolution, excellent time management, and a genuine passion for helping a group of freshman call Carolina home

I work in a classroom with elementary-age special needs students as part of the Lehigh Carbon Intermediate Unit's extended school year program! This program allows students who need extra support extended time to meet IEP goals in the month of July.In this position, I collaborate with 4 other staff members in a classroom and work with students with special needs like autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, etc. Not only do I need to display flexibility by rotating classrooms where space is needed, but I also work to develop personal relationships with students and their families. It requires me to know the developmental milestones of each student, as well as fill out daily progress journals for students and their families.I love providing safe, loving, and welcoming environments for students and their families. Forming personal connections in roles like this is why I am pursuing a career in the field of psychology, and I am fortunate to be able to participate in this program.
