My goal as a bookseller is to quickly and efficiently get the books a customer may need and make recommendations tailored to their interests. It is also high priority to make sure they leave the store satisfied and do it all with kind words and a smile.

In this role, I supported children with disabilities in programs selected by the company. I would run their programs with them, help them in forming appropriate interactions with others, and making sure they remained safe during their time at the center. I would also visit them in their homes to run different programs tailored for home activities. I occasionally supervised children in the van on their rides to their homes or to be picked up, and I helped in the daycare for employee children.

At Griffith centers, I could take on clients for supervised visitation and behavioral coaching. I was not able to take on any clients, but I would shadow supervised visits with a visitation facilitator, and I learned about suicide prevention, the childcare system, paperwork for cases, and several ways that the company functions. This is where my internship takes place, which has now been moved to online.

My main responsibility at this job is to scan and file client files into their correct places. I have also been assigned other projects, mostly organizing projects. These assignments consisted of organizing satisfaction surveys, filing papers that had been stored for a while, and to help file legal documents. I have been exposed to the detox/ATU atmosphere during my time at this job.

During my time At Lutheran Family Services, I applied learned knowledge to individually supervise sessions with parents and their children inside and outside the facilities. I ensured clients remained comfortable with their parents during the session and made sure behaviors and discussions from parents remained appropriate. In these sessions, I took very diligent notes for the documents needed in their cases.

This was a summer job during college, so I worked there from May 2018 – July 2018 and from May 2019 – August 2019. My main responsibilities were to greet the customers with a smile, take their orders, and get them whatever they needed or wanted. I was to make food for customers, stock and organize our products, and assure general cleanliness. I accepted orders and could help in the ordering process. During my second summer, I was entrusted with supervisor responsibilities, such as ordering products, assuring that other employees were doing their jobs correctly, and getting what they needed in their work.

My responsibilities were to clean and stock dishes, serve food at the lines, fetch food from the kitchen to bring to the lines, and to make sure that the tables were clean. Another responsibility of mine was to interact with the customers and provide them with great customer service, including greeting and servicing them at the register. I have been awarded for going above and beyond for my assignments, specifically customer service.
