Research focus: evaluating and enhancing the use of model-based scenarios for energy transition and climate change mitigation by stakeholders in the industry, policy, and the public.- Designed experiments and performed extensive statistical modeling (generalized linear models,clustering, classification, optimization).- Performed systematic meta-analyses of scenarios and models for electricity supply in Europeancountries and compared them with stakeholder perspectives.- Part of an EU Horizon 2020 project for low/zero-carbon innovation.

Developed an interactive web tool coupled with an electricity supply model for informing stakeholders about risk trade-offs in Swiss electricity supply scenarios and measuring preferences for these scenarios.

I have been developing a data-driven methodology for scanning 1.4 million Dutch terraced houses, in order to convert them to renewable energy power plants.

As a graduate student, I learned Python and discovered Agile and Test-Driven Development. As a full-time employee, I became part of the development team and wrote back-end Python code for projects related to distributed, cloud and high-performance computing, as well as for web development. Additionally, I analysed large data sets, deployed software with Chef, supported customers, assisted operations and QA.- Developed a large-scale information management system and apps related to distributed, cloud and high-performance computing.- Won the 3rd place at the Open Data Battle competition (Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure) for creating a route planner web app in Django within the limited frame of 10 days.

Co-founded the university’s entry for Solar Decathlon 2014 competition, the international “Olympic games” of sustainable building design. Managed a team of 10 engineering students and assumed the roles of chief structural engineer, climate engineer and even that of a construction supervisor, for building a full-scale house prototype.- I was actively involved in transforming a small student team into a multidisciplinary “Dream team” of 50 students, 10 academics and a consortium of companies that fund-raised 1 million euros.- Our project won the 1st prize in Sustainability, Communication and Social awareness and the 3rd prize overall in the competition, among 20 projects from all over the world.- Our project won the 2nd prize in Energy efficiency, a category whereby I designed, created energy simulations and officially presented the project to the competition jury.
