My name is Gonçalo Xavier Ribeiro Nunes and I am a Physics Engineer. I am a curious person, really passionate about Physics and Mathematics, even taking extra-credits as an undergraduate.My academic background has an emphasis on areas such as: Calculus, Statistics, Operations Research, Theoretical Physics, Computational Physics, Applied Optics, Spectroscopy...My final bachelor project was about fiber-optic communications, more specifically: "Polarization Demultiplexing in Coherent Transmission Fiber Optics Systems". My masters thesis, named "Deep Convolution Neural Networks for Open-Set Facial Identification", was in the artificial intelligence and deep learning areas. Along with my degree, my role in the direction of my students association and my Erasmus experience allowed me to develop personal skills such as: teamwork, flexibility, problem solving and critical thinking.
