Project Engineer for Project Palmer• Provided mechanical technical expertise in contract negotiations and FEL phase on a $500MM project to design, manufacture, and install new rail mill.• Communicated with hot mill manufacturer on all mechanical aspects of project.• Traveled to Venice, Italy to meet with vendor, inspect facilities, and become familiar with equipment.• Traveled to Detroit, Michigan on several occasions to meet with construction contractor and participate in design meetings.

Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer• Responsible for the installation, commissioning, and startup of all rotating equipment on a $2B greenfield polyethylene plant, including associated utilities.• Developed method to monitor mechanical seal leak rates (to accurately foresee failure) for critical reactor pumps.• Commissioned and maintained INRU (Isobutane and Nitrogen Recovery Unit) compressor as well as other gas compressors.• Led the troubleshooting effort with the INRU vendor which was critical path to starting up a $1B PE loop. Identified that the issue was related to potentiometer that monitored rotor location and addressed the issue with multiple parties (Operations, Maintenance, Vendor). Implemented a temporary solution to allow startup. Later developed and implemented a permanent solution.• Developed and implemented reliability improvements for many pieces ofrotating equipment.• Monitored vibration readings on compressors, pumps, and motors toforesee failure.• Led the troubleshooting effort for dehex compressor failure. Identified thatthe issue was process related and addressed the issue with multiple parties(Operations, Maintenance, Vendor). Process temperatures were such thatthe fluid running through the compressor was changing phase andnegatively affecting lubricity of the oil in the compressor.• Oversaw rebuilds of various compressors and other rotating equipment bothat the manufacturer’s facility as well as on site.• Remained on call for entirety of commissioning and startup of all rotatingequipment (approximately 9 months).• Developed plans for shutdown activities related to rotating equipment.• Led preservation team for equipment that was waiting to be installed(nitrogen purge, rotor rotations, etc).• Led oil flushing effort to startup all rotating equipment.• Reviewed and analyzed vibration measurements for all rotating equipment.• Continued to lead troubleshooting efforts after startup completion.
