We chameleons have evolved some of the most specialized skills on Earth.Our famous trait is changing color, but it's not just for camouflage. It's to communicate, to express, to socialize. My favorite feature is that our eyes rotate and focus separately. I can see a lentil right here and a jet over there. We also perceive ultraviolet light, so we see things others miss. Our tongues can hit prey in 0.030 of a second. You should hear the sound it makes!We have grouped toes with sharp claws for gripping slippery branches and fleeting ideas.Chameleons are mostly oviparous. Some are ovoviviparous. What a word! Ovoviviparous! Love it.We gestate in a sheer membrane. Once it touches the ground, we awaken and emerge. Brilliantly pragmatic, don’t you think?
