WM is an oil and gas distribution/process controls/engineering company. I was responsible for aligning business, cyber and technology initiatives helping to develop a comprehensive enterprise-wide strategy supporting competitive business advantages for each of the associated companies. Also responsible for developing an innovative shared services platform foundation including Cyber Security, Digital Transformation, and ERP deployment that provides cost containment and economies of scale. Responsibility included overall technology innovation supporting business objectives, business continuity and risk mitigation, short-term/long-range technology planning, and business-wide technology infrastructure. Conducted extensive enterprise-wide process design and operational efficiency meetings and developed/executed the initiatives incorporating change management plans. Created new IT governance program with project portfolio to prioritize project execution. Continually worked with executive team to evaluate business strategy and define/implement business driven technology solutions and well as the SCADA/processing controls engineering group to streamline and implement best practices for securing SCADA systems and critical infrastructure projects.

Appointed interim CIO with responsibility for assessing the technology environment and business processes/internal controls as well as creating a cross-business shared services model. Created short-term objectives and initiatives to stabilize current technology platform including new security initiatives, WAN/LAN design, and business continuity planning. Mid-term planning included process improvement, virtualization of server environment, data center initiative, review of operational efficiencies and processes, and setting vision/direction for technology group. Worked with Senior Management Group to evaluate existing company-wide business processes and develop solutions for areas of opportunity.

A start-up technology, security and software consulting company providing technology solutions to business issues. Grew the consulting practice from two to over 40 employees. Corporate executive team member, overseeing broad company management items including recruiting, training, compensation and retention plans, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic technology and business planning. Responsible for IT consulting practice including team development and dynamics, technology planning and design, strategy, process innovation, ERP selection/design/implementation, change management, and overall client relationships. Responsible for business development and securing new clients. Major clients included DEC, Dell, Monsanto, HP, Shell, Deloitte & Touche, MD Anderson, Pitney Bowes and others.

After understanding business goals and vision for the corporation, we built the technology team and developed a comprehensive enterprise-wide technology strategy to support extremely aggressive M&A growth and business plans. This included an ERP selection with new internal controls and processes, communication and technology platforms, new governance committee and risk profiling and mitigation. Conducted extensive enterprise-wide process design meetings and helped determine change management plans for implementing new accounting processes and internal controls. Also responsible for M&A integration and execution for newly acquired businesses.
