As Lead Software Architect, I led and mentored a team of 15 developers working on the Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 Dashboard Data Pipeline, one of the most widely viewed and accessed sources of COVID-19 data globally. I oversaw the development and maintenance of the pipeline, continuously adapting it to new data sources and evolving needs. I also led efforts to enhance data quality assurance, infrastructure migrations, and anomaly detection, improving performance by 35%. I worked closely with the JHU Coronavirus Resource Center and briefed the CDC on the pipeline’s architecture, data acquisition, and cleaning processes. Additionally, I ensured the quality and accuracy of the data, responding to urgent inquiries from media outlets like Bloomberg and CNN.As a Full Stack Engineer, I independently led the design and development of key features for a multimillion-dollar AI persona-based message generation project. I implemented private personas for enhanced security and reduced visual clutter, integrating authentication technology with the application’s database and adding security permission checks to API endpoints. I refactored unit tests and database queries which improved performance by 15% and enhanced code readability and consistency. I also developed ORMs and FastAPI endpoints to interface with GPU workers to generate sentiment metrics for AI-generated messages.On a different project, I designed the entirety of the database and migrations, API, and unit tests using SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, and PyTest.
