20+ years of experience from the MedTech industry in various positions. First, in 2001 as the R&D-Manager of a smaller IVD-company where I subsequently was promoted to General Manager. Then, in 2007 as the co-founder of the coagulation IVD-company Nordic Biomarker which we grew successfully to an exit in 2014. My co-founder and I both stayed on and managed the company under the new ownership until 2020, and over these last years I made 43 trips to China, working and traveling there for a total of 900 days to develop our business.In 1998, I defended my doctoral thesis in Biochemistry at Umeå University, after which I was awarded a scholarship to continue basic research as a postdoc at Washington University in St. Louis. Although it is now many years since I left academia, at heart I am still a scientist. I still read a lot of scientific literature to keep up with progress, and I enjoy, whenever I have time, to do real, hands-on, laboratory experiments.Both at work, as well as at home, I am a doer who never gives up. I get things done. I know that any project, or any organization, will run into problems, and there is simply no way to run a business without being prepared to solve unexpected problems. Just like anyone else, I prefer a smooth ride, but the feeling of solving problems, or simply avoiding them, is also great!I am Swedish, but after several years in the US, my English is also completely fluent. Part of my family is Chinese, so my Mandarin is improving for every day. I am easy to talk to in real life, and I enjoy very much to write scientific, educational, as well as selling marketing material. Part of my previous success in the IVD-industry has been to understand that inventing good MedTech products is useless if you cannot tell the world about it.
