As an economist and expert in international political economy, I have dedicated my career in public service to contributing to Türkiye's economic growth and stability and representing my country on the international stage.My academic career began with a bachelor's and master's degree in economics at the Middle East Technical University (METU), followed by a second master's degree in international politics at the Free University of Brussels. In August 2023, I completed my doctoral thesis on structural financial power in the International Relations Department of METU.I started my professional career in 1989 at the Undersecretariat of the Treasury. From 1996 to 1999, I served as an Economic Advisor at the Permanent Representation of Türkiye to the EU in Brussels. From 2005 to 2013, I served as Director General of the General Directorate of Economic Research in the Undersecretariat of Treasury.As Director General, I focused on economic and financial issues in Türkiye, developed short- and medium-term macroeconomic forecasts and worked on structural reform policies. I also served as a member of the Debt Management Committee and participated in decision-making on the sustainability of Türkiye's public debt.In 2013, I joined the World Bank as an Alternate Executive Director and gained valuable insights into the global economic and political landscape.From 2017 to 2018, I headed the External Relations Department at the Prime Ministry, leading efforts to improve communication and cooperation between Türkiye and other countries.Throughout my career, I have participated in various international panels, conferences and meetings, demonstrating a solid understanding of global economic issues. In 2022, I retired from public service and continued to serve as the Director of Global and Turkish Economic Studies at the Foreign Policy Institute from February 2023 to February 2024. I have also been a lecturer at Atılım University since September 2023.I founded the Ankara Global Advisory Group together with my professor Hüseyin Bağcı.
