I also champion organizational priorities at the local and state governmental levels, including testifying before the state’s Appropriations Committee on key appropriations and the Public Health Committee on vital bills. Examples include advocating for the Maternal Child Health Block Grant and the Preventative Health Block Grant, among others.For select highlights with the department, I…- Chaired the Equity Vaccine Leadership Committee and spearheaded the rollout of the successful Mobile Vaccination program, which included trusted members of the community addressing ethnicity and linguistic barriers. I also led the early deployment of Covid-19 testing in 211 nursing homes across CT in June 2020 in coordination with major hospital partners.- Co-authored a white paper in response to Public Health Senate Bill PA 21-35 as a member of the Commission on Racial Equity. The report exposed public health inequities faced by people of color in the workforce, along with recommendations to address the issues and increase people of color in the healthcare workforce.- Co-chaired a subcommittee with a state Senator evaluating the Department of Health’s response to the pandemic.- Made a major impact on the state’s pandemic efforts as a member of the Covid-19 Response team and chairing the Travel Advisory Work Group at Bradley Airport.- Planned and hosted Equity Summit 2020 on Maternal Mortality and Morbidity for 500+ healthcare professionals from across the state, including having the US Surgeon General as keynote speaker.

I was asked to continue serving as a strategic partner training members of the senior management team, including the new Executive Director, on best healthcare operations leadership and other practices to drive the growth and success of the organization’s facility and programs.As such, I played a key role influencing the design and implementation of the board’s strategic plans and continue improving the quality of services provided across all facilities to achieve best outcomes for residents, while remaining in full compliance with Connecticut Department of Health regulations.

Made a powerful impact on the capabilities and quality of services provided by the nonprofit organization serving as a shelter and care provider for those living with HIV/AIDS. The facility has filled a mission-critical need since the early 1980’s fighting for diversity, equity, and inclusion for the marginalized, persecuted population.•Led a complete turn-around for Leeway to achieve profitability after years of losses, creating/implementing a strategic plan that transformed the group from a 30-bed facility into a 101-bed healthcare continuum.•Orchestrated capital investments in the nursing home, residential care, community case management, and other assets, which led Leeway to be held up as a continuum care model by Medicare and Medicaid surveyors. - The dynamic model resulted in major decreases in emergency visits, hospital stays, and nursing home admissions, among a number of other improvements.•Drove the rollout of a state-of-the-art Patient Care Clinical system in 2013, digitalizing all clinical documentation.•Proud to have been instrumental in the organization being awarded a CMS (5) star rating for quality in 2017 and a 5-star rating for overall capabilities in 2018.

Recruited to lead the largest county hospital provider in the state of New Jersey and succeeded in streamlining the for-profit group’s governance framework and designing a 5-year strategic plan.•Crafted a series of marketing strategies resulting in both patient days and discharges rising by over 20%.•Rolled out a next-generation Cardio Angiography Program, an outpatient (ECT) Electroconvulsive Therapy Program, and a new Behavioral Health Clinical Model for a 300-bed behavioral health hospital, among other major additions/improvements.•Transformed the culture to attract top healthcare talent and introduced other changes that led to revenue and net income targets being exceeded, while employee satisfaction rose dramatically and turnover dropped 50%.
