As the Spider Care Technician at the live spiders exhibition at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, I am the primary caretaker for 50 individual spiders of 20 different species and I serve as a docent for the exhibition. Husbandry responsibilities include feeding animals, documenting their behavior, monitoring enclosure conditions, cleaning enclosures, and taking care of plants in exhibits. Docent responsibilities include educating the public about arachnids and other arthropods, interpreting the exhibit, answering questions, demonstrating feedings, and presenting information to guests using supplementary materials such as molts and photographs.
