Mrs. Vickie Frederick’s professional experience includes serving as classroom teacher, Reading Specialist, Special Needs Coordinator, Occasional Inspector and Primary School Principal. She is a level 1 trained school inspector and has served on the EASU team to conduct local school inspections. Mrs. Frederick led major efforts resulting in increased student achievement and significant improvements in teaching, learning and school status. As a visionary principal, she is keenly aware of her leadership role in the school community in which she works. She leads by example and her approach to improve teaching and learning is through her innovative use of data and technology and high expectations of staff and students. Through the analysis of data she is able to identify elements of strength and success in the students’ classroom and school experience as well as areas requiring improvement. The school community describes her as successfully wearing the various “hats” of a principal, teacher, mother, spiritual advisor, coach, mentor, colleague and friend to many young and old. She has inspired students, parents and staff a surge of pride and contribution to the school community. The school has received multiple awards and accolades over the years for making a difference in the lives of students and the wider community. Her school receives recognition for students’ high performance in academics, sports, performing and visual arts. In addition, she has served on a national educational strategic team and is a co-writer of the Cayman Islands Social Studies Text Books. A member of numerous local boards, Mrs. Frederick has participated with national agencies and associations to reform education. She received the distinguished Teacher of the Year Award 1993 –Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.
