After several months of fulfilling the role ad interim, I have been offered the permanent role of Team Lead Amazon Incident Management. This comes down to combining my incident manager and interim team lead roles. The activities I will be taking on are as follows: - Conducting 1:1s and appraisals (generating goals and objectives, tracking the goals and objectives, appraising the Engineers and Reviewing the personal development plans) - Resourcing wise I will be Conducting interviews, calculating our Future resource requirements, Onboarding and training new employees & Coordinatiing with the learning department and internally for trainings. - Incident management duties will remain. This means I will be Evaluating each high priority ticket, Track high priority incidents to guarantee progress, In case of escalations take over tickets and facilitate , Continue being one of Amazon's POCs in case of escalations & Coordinating Engineers for peak periods. - Other duties are performing quality checks on tickets, Take on a more prominent role in the relationship with our non-DSD 1st and 2nd line, Be responsible for 10 Engineers working in shifts and to Learn continuously.

I am the point of contact for the Amazon EU/APAC team, site managers and their Engineers to discuss the more complex and impacting issues while communicating the priority-settings with my colleagues and distributing work based on my meetings with the Amazon EU/APAC team. Next to this, I take responsibility for coordinating all reported incidents from Amazon EU/APAC and taking the lessons learned. Furthermore, I work on identifying process improvements, generating solutions, implementing them, verifying its effectiveness and continuously check for further improvements on the processes.

The foundation was founded to give less-privileged children the opportunity to go on a vacation. Every year 10-12 camps are organized which means that about 200 children are given a week ‘’off’’. My job is to handle all the money going in and out of the foundation. Next to that I am responsible for the recruitment of new sailors, organizing events, handle the supplies for the camps and create the new website with a portal. Being on the water and helping the children gives me great satisfaction and ensures that I will keep on volunteering at the foundation for the upcoming years.

During the internship I analyzed the equipment used at several departments of Factory Best. Using the data from the analysis I was able to visualize the criticality of each process step and started the development of a solution for one of the more critical machines used in the process. This solution consisted of a cleaning method on micrometer-level.

Eindhoven Airport

Every plane that lands at Eindhoven Airport has (among other things) to be connected to electricity, put on brakes, filled with water, have the toilet drained and the luggage has to be handled. My job was to do exactly that and do it in a safe and efficient way. This to keep our customers (E.g. RyanAir and Transavia) satisfied and make sure they will stay competitive in their market.

Here I worked with a wide variety of people and customers while being responsible for the handling of the goods in my department. Due to this variety of people I was able to keep my level of English on the same level as it was when finishing high school. Though my German improved since Nijmegen is close to the German boarder which meant that there were German customers every day.
