Social Media Manager, capable of developing, curating and publishing original and trending content across multiple social media platforms including: Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus.Workshop Leader, Educator, Presenter, specializing in the Read-Write-Web, Student Blogging, Cloud Computing, Desktop Publishing, Mobile Journalism Audio/Video Editing.I teach a totally paperless (computer centric) Language Arts course in which students use blogs, wikis and mobile media devices to compose, edit and publish essays, reports, and other assignments that are aligned with the Pennsylvania’s State standards for Language Arts. In lieu of worksheets and handouts, students practice reading, writing, listening and presenting by subscribing to education blogs, online news services and student centered podcasts. In this course, students use the Internet Public Library, Project Gutenberg, and Google Books to build extensive digital libraries and personal learning networks. Students use free, web based resources to study famous speeches, read local and international newspapers, and to transcribe and interpret literary classics.The object of this course is to teach students the value of Digital Citizenship and Netiquette against a Language Arts backdrop. The course goals are met through a progression of guided activities and scaffolded routines. These routines are rooted in writing and revision, grammar and mechanics, reading comprehension, highlighting and note taking. These routines allow students to realize their full potential and become literate, self assured middle school students.
