LxC provides opportunities for meaningful use of sources in languages other than English to students, who use them to gain international information and insight on the subject matter of courses that would otherwise employ only sources in English. Professors carve out a 10-15 percent portion of their semester syllabus for the optional insertion of LxC assignments, designed by Language Resource Specialists, typically international graduate students, who meet with students an hour a week to relate the content of these assignments to the course subject matter.
