I'm an experienced and enthusiastic software engineer and data scientist who is always ready to tackle new problems. I love building systems, and I view my technical skills as my single greatest opportunity to make the world a better place, one bit at a time.My primary areas of interests include systems programming in Rust, backed by more than a decade of experience with C, modern C++, and Haskell. My second strongest field of expertise is data science: I have conducted and am currently undertaking several projects in bioinformatics (in particular, next-generation sequencing and medical signal processing) and biostatistics (specifically, metabolic profiling) as a consulting data scientist at personalized health companies.I am excited by complex interdisciplinary challenges, which involve the use of system design principles and software engineering best practices, performance optimization, the design of clean and normalized databases, the application of classical statistics and machine learning, as well as diving into domain-specific scientific knowledge as required.Ever since I had begun my Bachelor's degree in Molecular Bionics Engineering, I have always been in close contact with academia. I have a passion and a good eye for explaining science and technology to future practitioners. At PPCU, I taught an Introduction to Programming course for two semesters, along with a one-semester course on Nonlinear Dynamical Systems. I was also a teaching assistant for a course focusing on High-Performance Computing in C++.Between 2010 and 2013, I was an active contributor on Stack Overflow, having reached 105 000 reputation points and having been awarded the "Legendary" status. Since 2017, I'm a regular member of the Rust Users forum where I have solved more than 250 questions, ranging from the very beginner to complex type-level metaprogramming problems. I am a regular speaker at meetups in Hungary as well as abroad – I have delivered talks at NSBudapest, Budapest Swift Meetup, Budapest Science Meetup, and Swift London Meetup.I am a strong advocate for free/libre and open-source software, a data protection and privacy activist, a classical music and jazz enthusiast, and a self-taught piano player.
