I am a geotechnical engineer with 25 years of experience in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering. I joined Jacobs in 2019 as a Geotechnical Discipline Lead specializing in design-build infrastructure projects in the Puget Sound area.Prior to joining Jacobs, I spent 3 years with WSP in Seattle as Geotechnical Group Manager and 11 years with CH2M as Senior Geotechnical Engineer providing support to transportation, water, environmental, and energy projects. I specialize in the areas of advanced numerical modeling in geotechnical computations, earthquake engineering, and ground improvement/reinforcement.My role on projects has varied from discipline lead, geotechnical group manager, to senior technical reviewer. My project management experience includes managing a number of WSDOT and Sound Transit design-build projects such as the I-5/SR 16 Realignment project in Tacoma (WA), the SR 3 - Chico Creek project in Chico (WA), the SR 509 - Stage 1b, I-5 to 24th Avenue S. project in SeaTac (WA), the SR 167 (Stage 1b) project in Fife (WA), the SR 509 - Stage 2, 24th Avenue S. to S. 188th Street project in SeaTac (WA), and the Downtown Redmond Link project in Redmond (WA). I have provided design and construction recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, embankments and slopes, ground improvement/reinforcement, earthwork and site grading on projects located in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Vietnam. Most of these projects have included preparation of design plans and special provisions for contract specifications. A number of projects have involved ground improvement to mitigate liquefaction potential or soft soil conditions.
