Smallsat payload development.

I developed I2C, GPIO, and CAN drivers in C on the Zephyr RTOS during this 6-weeksummer internship.

I was the principal mission & systems architect of the SelfieSat and FramSat-1 CubeSat missions. The SelfieSat successfully deployed in orbit in September 2022. I assembled the FRAMSAT-1 consortium which secured funding early in 2021 and supervised a systems engineering group of six students which supported a larger team of 60 engineering students working on two satellite missions.

I spent my time as CTO keeping Orbit NTNU on the right track by carefully exploring and trading away emerging project opportunities, such as ISS payloads and new satellite mission concepts. I introduced continuous improvement principles within the organization during this period.

I set the aim and direction for Orbit NTNU in the spring of 2018. During this period, I spearheaded the effort to establish Orbit by defining the goal and purpose of the organization and collaborated with 4 co-founders to secure funding and recruit 20 new project members. I and other key members secured team leads and a capable project manager. The team successfully initiated the satellite project in 2018. I focused on my role as a lead systems engineer during fall 2018 after securing key positions within Orbit. During this time, I also worked on securing funding for the project by setting up and attending sponsor meetings together with the CMO and PM of Orbit NTNU. Space Norway is currently developing infrastructure for the novel VHF Data Exchange System (VDES), complementing the older AIS protocol. The satellites NorSat-2 and the planned NorSat-TD carry VDES payloads as part of their primary mission objective. It's my responsibility to compile all existing project documentation into a system & service architecture report.
