Holds a MSc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTNU), 1990. Started with the Norwegian shipping group Wilh.Wilhelmsen ASA in '91 and held various positions (incl. 6 yrs overseas) in ship management, business development, safety & quality management, and software development & consulting.Responsible for development of Barber Ship Management’s Safety & Quality Management System from 1991-95. Certification of four offices and 180 ships achieved in Jan.'93, securing compliance with the ISMA Code, ISO 9002, and the ISM Code. From 1993 to '96 - appointed as member of the Code of Ship Management Standards Committee of the International Ship Managers’ Association (ISMA, now InterManager).Stationed in South-East Asia for Wilh.Wilhelmsen from 1996 to 2002 with responsibility for sales and marketing at the corporate level of the Barber Ship Management group as well as business development for Wilh.Wilhelmsen in the South-East Asia region.Joined the maritime software company BASS in 2000 as Head of Consulting & Implementation projects for ship owners world-wide, still being a part of the Wilh.Wilhelmsen group and based in S.E.Asia.From 2001 - Head of Product Management & Marketing ensuring that BASS' innovation and product development cater for the needs and industry requirements of ship owners/ managers and offshore companies.Took up position as responsible for global sales & channel management in BASS from January 2011. – Now based in Oslo, Norway, but working globally.BASS is a truly independent maritime software company after MBO from Wilh.Wilhelmsen.
