Responsible for the humanitarian portfolio: - representing the Embassy at donor-coordination meetings on humanitarian aid; - extensive contact with different NGOs; - fieldtrips to visit NGO projects and assess humanitarian situation (Jijiga, Gambella, Yabello) - gathering information on the humanitarian situation in Ethiopia, and informing the Ministry in The Hague about developments in both situation and funding status.

Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, India

Four month research internship with this NGO in rural India, in the field of capacity building and micro-entreprise development for women. The research was intended to look into the work of those women ('business development providers'), who were selected by Udyogini to play a leadership role in their communities, and motivate other women to participate in women enterprise groups. Results showed several social- as well as business obstacles for the women to become successful entrepreneurs and with that role models for others.
