Profile bio

About Amanda Haas (She/Her)

☑As a creative and resourceful problem solver and outstanding cross-functional team collaborator, I bring extensive experience in community-based school and program design. My specialty is driving innovation in learning, delivery, and curriculum, by focusing on the specific needs of community-based learning environments. I strive to exceed program expectations and leave each student with positive memories that inspire their unique journey through education and life.☑After earning a Master of Arts in Childhood Education, I served as a Grade Team Lead Teacher for a New York Charter School. My students ranked in the top 15% of kindergarten classes for student achievement in reading and math. I also bring extensive Pre-K program development experience. ☑I then joined Uncommon Schools, earning recognition as the only Dean of Curriculum and Instruction hired from outside of the organization, something I am immensely proud of. We made significant gains in student achievement in both ELA and Math across K-4 in my first year as a DCI, specifically growing by double digits in our state test proficiency in Math in both 3rd and 4th grade, and double digits in grade 3 ELA, despite both grades and both subject areas hovering at 3% proficiency just 2 years prior.☑I am now working as a math specialist with SchoolKit, where we partner with educational leaders and teachers to improve instruction through content and curriculum-specific training. This work is in service of building schools and systems that help all students succeed. ☑Drive success by:- Highly Attuned to People: I understand and align individual perspective to differentiate the way we innovate in our schools, enabling educators to feel confident and comfortable with our curriculum.- Opportunity: I started my career as a teacher, so I understand the landscape from the ground-up, delivering unique perspective and insight to the overall educator experience.
