 To prepare BOQ and cost estimates for major commercial, residential and industrial buildings to enable the company to secure and undertake MEP contracts in the Middle East and Far Eastern countries. Participate in the planning of the department in terms of resources, tools, costing rates and market information Ensure the accuracy and compliance of the estimates produced. Develop relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors to maintain the most up-to-date market information. Prepare and maintains an effective database of costing information for labour, materials, and sub contract works. Take off material quantities from drawings and prepares the bills of quantity in accordance with the company’s procedures. Issue enquiries to suppliers and sub contractors, detailing the scope of works, drawings, specifications, bills of quantity, and conditions of contract. Analyse quotations received to ensure compliance with the specification. Prepare quotation financial comparison sheets for approval and incorporation in the estimate. Calculate the labor requirements based on the company norms. Prepare the project bill of quantity or cost breakdown based on the agreed project lump sum price. Prepares and submits requests for information during the tender period and monitors that replies are received from the client. Prepare a schedule of estimate non-compliances, and recommends tender qualifications to the management. Undertake value engineering and preparation of alternative offers. Control the design consultants where employed for design and construct tenders. Undertake outline design and budget pricing. Maintain records of all meetings, correspondence and documents issued during the tender. Assists the project team with resolution of budget difficulties and specification interpretation. Participates in the development of the company systems and procedures.
