Hable Construction was founded in 1999 by the collaborative minds of Susan + Katharine Hable. Using Susan's artwork in collage, paint, & pen we strive to add some color and beauty into everyday environments. Domestically made as much as possible and working with people who can interpret our art into a useful product whether raw goods or finished product. We currently offer 5 collections of textiles to the trade via our 2 print collections, S.Harris, Hickory Chair, and Loomsource. We have worked for the past 16+ years doing holiday, bedding and home decor as well as children's long johns with Garnet Hill. Furniture launched with Hickory Chair in April of 2015 and we just showed our third collection this fall at High Point Market. We also launched new mirrors and decorative accessories with Maitland-Smith this fall in opulent materials and treatments made at a foundry in the Philippines. Susan Hable, our creative director and designer, has a book out called "A Colorful Home" that was a fun collaboration with dear friend and incredible photographer, Rinne Allen via Chronicle Books. Two self published books with removable posters called Color Set: 3 showcasing her art with Rinne's photography. In Spring 2019 she followed up with a beautiful book for all ages called "Shapes Today" thru Lil Bit Lit. We expanded our digital wall art collection with Soicher Marin in 2018. We work with Skyline Designs on a collection of dec/etched glass to the trade for hospitality, residential as well as commercial spaces. We have collaborated with HSN on a collection of home storage solutions. The product is a way to provide storage in custom Hable colors and designs to make your home more organized in an aesthetically pretty way. Available online at hsn.com. Two new collaborations will come to fruition in Spring 2020. We offer design consultancy and have worked with companies including P&G, SCJ, Pottery Barn Kids, Crate and Barrel, Barney's NY, and Volkswagen as well as many private clients. Our focus is textile, surface and product design but our collaborative works in past and present have included hard goods as well as high tech products not yet to market.
