I run successful live music events and club nights across Glasgow and London called MILK. I am responsible for organising, booking, marketing and promoting, and DJing. The events have received extensive press attention from Radio 1, STV, Evening Times, The Guardian, The Skinny and more. We regularly attach charity causes to our events and have raised over £10,000 for a broad range of charities. I am often invited to speak on Indie Promoter panels at events such as the Wide Days music convention and 'Off the Record' seminars for young people in music.

I directed two documentaries with The Forest of Black: the first, an extended and adapted cut of my award-winning graduation film re-titled Lumo: Too Young To Die, which aired on BBC Scotland and UK wide on BBC iPlayer. The second, a short film titled That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, commissioned by Scottish Documentary Institute and Screen Scotland, which premiered internationally at DOC NYC and won the BAFTA Scotland award for Best Short Film. TJIFA is now available on iPlayer as part of the BBC Next Big Thing series.

I curated and project managed a UK-wide music fundraising initiative called MHF Live for the Mental Health Foundation, to encourage and support artists and communities to host their own music events to raise awareness and raise money for mental health. The initiative continues to thrive and is backed by major musicians including Rita Ora, Years & Years, and Snow Patrol.

In this role I produce and direct commercials, sponsorship idents, and short-formad-funded programmes. The role requires me to manage projects from brief through to delivery, working across multiple platforms including location and studio shoots and animation/GFX. I handle several jobs simultaneously whilst also training junior members of the team. My weekly tasks include budgeting and scheduling; hiring and managing crew; liaising with clients and agencies; dealing with compliance, legal and health & safety issues. I thrive on the fast-paced environment at STV and have enjoyed positive feedback during my time with the company.

I was initially employed on a freelance basis as a Production Co-ordinator with STV Creativewhich developed into a permanent Junior Producer role, in which I managed graphics and animation jobs and low budget shoots, in addition to coordinating large scale shoots.

I work with a dynamic independent production company in Leith called Muckle Hen (www.mucklehen.com). We produce commercials, corporate videos, music videos and animation, and my main role is to oversee projects from start to finish to ensure efficiency and client satisfaction. The role involves budgeting and scheduling, finding suitable locations, booking crew, writing call sheets, completing tender applications, attending pitches and regularly liaising with clients. I also liaise with directors, writers, editors, animators, post-production houses and more to ensure the upkeep of Muckle Hen’s reputation for creating great films. I use Word, Excel, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Cyberduck and DVD Studio Pro on a daily basis, and I am familiar with Clearcast and compliance procedures and Adstream. I also look after the company’s social media sites and write the monthly newsletter.

Regular contributor to the property and features supplements, which involved researching, pitching and developing ideas, interviewing personalities, writing reviews and compiling style articles and product guides. I used Quark on a regular basis. During this time I was also Fashion Assistant, responsible for designing and creating props for photo shoots, organising locations, setting up shoots and overseeing returns. Latterly (2011-12) I had full-length features published in the Saturday Magazine and Sunday Herald.

I dealt with online and print marketing for the Tolbooth arts and music venue in Stirling. I began an online blog (www.tolbooth.wordpress.com) for the venue and regularly posted interviews with visiting personalities, photographs and more. I updated the website with the Tolbooth's latest events, which required using Photoshop and content management systems Livelink and latterly Squiz. I encouraged as much press coverage as possible for events and wrote, proof read and edited the quarterly brochure. This post was maternity cover and therefore I sought new employment as my contract was drawing to a close.

I was part of a very small team promoting, organising and facilitating the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival. My main tasks were to collate, proof-read and edit the brochure; update the website and social networking sites; generate press attention for the festival by finding relevant stories, writing releases and contacting journalists; and attend and assist at events across Scotland. My work with the festival continued the following year in a different capacity; as an events organiser and promoter, and at the request of my former colleagues, I curated a live music event as part of the 2012 festival. I intend to do the same again in 2013.

Freelance contributor to the weekly music supplement Something for the Weekend. My role was to come up with new ideas for music features, conduct interviews with bands and review shows in Glasgow and Edinburgh. I was part of the team covering T in the Park 2009. I also completed various news features for the main paper, including an undercover investigation on teenage binge drinking.
