As a child, I loved to watch How It’s Made. Seeing large scale industrial processes generate the products that we interact with every day has driven me to succeed throughout my education and pursue a career in process engineering. I am passionate about improving the efficiency of the chemical industry. My minor in economics has provided me with a new perspective about the finances of operating a chemical plant and how to optimize the process to increase yield safely and effectively. My industrial experience as a process engineer provided me with the opportunity to work on multiple projects including:• Development of a complex predictive model to measure chemical excess, optimizing chemical usage and quality of final product• Automated testing calibration through precise sampling to make measurements continuous, reducing production defects • Constructed a visual graphic presenting current plant values and how they compare to specs, allowing the plant to monitor all conditions in one place to quickly identify issues• Writing new code to generate quality reports in a consistent and accurate manner to monitor performance and identify quality issues• Led testing of chemical loss to determine if a recovery effort is warrantedI felt like a kid in a candy shop the first time I stepped foot in an industrial plant. Seeing the equipment up close and personal took me back to when I was a kid gawking at a TV screen. That’s when it clicked – I was certain this is where I was meant to be. Now, I am continuing my studies in pursuit of my childhood dreams.I enjoy meeting new people and having conversations.
