I am the CEO and Chief Learning Strategist at Duets Learning, a learning and development consultancy in Chicago. I am an award-winning talent development professional with over 20 years of experience in the field, I help clients create effective, engaging, and interactive learning solutions that support their organizational goals and needs. I also design and develop online courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise, leveraging my expertise in instructional design and eLearning implementation.In addition to running my business, I teach writing and elearning instructional design courses for ATD. I am also a lecturer at the University of San Diego, where I teach a course in their Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology program. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and insights with learners and peers, so I regularly speak at international conferences and events on topics such as storytelling, performance assessment, quality management, and learning strategy. I've also contributed to the talent development field through writing:-- I wrote the book StoryTraining: Selecting and Shaping Stories That Connect (2018), which explores using stories to enhance learning outcomes. -- I wrote the book Quality Management in Learning & Development, which is about developing and refining quality processes for your teams (2024). -- I contributed a chapter to the third edition of the ATD Handbook for Training and Talent Development (2022).-- I wrote two ATD TD at Work guides, Get the Whole Picture with a Performance Assessment (2018) and Power E-Learning with Stories (2021).As a lifelong learner myself, in addition to two graduate degrees, I hold multiple credentials and certifications, including the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), the Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), and the Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).I am also the winner of the Association for Talent Development's Outstanding Talent Professional Award and The Learning Guild's Guild Master Award.
