The L&D role covers many aspects of development within this international business. As a qualified coach and NLP practioner, I have supported senior leaders with the following:Designing change programmes that meet the needs of a changing businessDesigning, implementing and facilitating a range of workshops/courses to deliver development for people both technical and behaviourally.1:1 and group coaching including ‘leadership coaching’ for high performing teamsDesigning course materialsUnderstanding different audiences, learning styles and motivational needs to tailor a programme that engages individuals.Creating business plans for people development in line with company strategy outlining ROI. Career Planning/Succession Planning/Vision SettingDeveloping myself to stay ahead of the curve Project Management – I have worked both as part of, and as lead on many projects. I am currently lead for the ‘Induction Project’. The objective is to design a global induction plan and platform that will translate across different areas of the business that also fits seamlessly with other major projects. This involves working closely with key stakeholders, working groups, SME’s and agencies. By identifying the ‘cultural fit’ we can support the recruitment of the best people maximising retention rates. Other projects involve – Re-designing our development strategy and the processes that support this for the national salesforce. Over the past 12 months I have also worked with the salesforce as a Regional Development Coach – specifically leading a team of 7 account representatives who manage an area that turns over £7 million. This people manager role involves getting the best from individuals in order to grow market share whilst maintaining volumes in line with the UK company strategy.

My role as a Training Manager within JTI primarily involved working closely with 21 area managers to support and drive performance for both themselves and their teams. This is coupled with identifying training needs for the business and creating, reviewing and facilitating numerous courses. The role included:Ensuring that training initiatives support company strategies and drive high performance.Design, implement, facilitate and evaluate training courses including salesforce induction, training the trainers, coaching the coach and management development centres.Coaching and development of Area Sales Managers to develop high performing teams. Project Management - I was project lead in the re-organisation of the national salesforce. This involved re-structuring 230 sales people, including 21 management teams. A 6 month project that consisted of:Ensuring maximum output for the business objectivesLiaising with multiple departments and outside agenciesCreating a new job role to support the salesforceWorking with HR in minimising redundanciesLiaising with IT to ensure our systems supported the plans.

North West

As an ASM I was responsible for the performance and development of 12 people. Through effective leadership, motivation, planning and communication, the team achieved top results nationally, winning many incentives. The team vision and plan supported company objectives and strategies driving market share for the Manchester area. The role was made up of the following elements:Improving skills & behaviours whilst inspiring a high level of self-motivation and self-development through training, coaching, development activities and performance reviews. Establishing strong and influential relationships with key businesses to identify opportunities for business growth.Evaluating the area’s financial resource to deliver the maximum possible return on investment.

South West

As an ADR I was responsible for 300 independent and symbol outlets. The main objective was to increase market share by driving distribution of key brands, increasing presence, selling in merchandising equipment, managing multiple key accounts and maintaining excellent relationships with the trade.
