The Sri Lankan Blue Whale Project is the first long term research project on blue whales of the Northern Indian Ocean. Responsibilities as a field intern included assisting with boat-based photo-identification surveys, analysis of photo ID, and data entry.

Worked on organising study tours for policy graduates and civil society organisations. My responsibilities for these projects were with drafting letters, coordinating with resource personnel and creating agendas for the tour.

Learnt about disaster risk reduction and management practices through desk research.

Citra Social Innovation Labs is a joint initiative between the State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation and the UNDP and is the first social innovation hub in the country. I was employed as a junior consultant to map policies and institutions that contribute towards SDG indicators in the country. The data collation assigned was for the Sustainable Development Goals 7 (affordable and clean energy),13 (climate action), 15 (Life on land) and 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions). Responsibilities included identifying the relevant authorities, coordinate meetings with officials and collect and review secondary data sources that were stored both physically and digitally for each indicator.
