About Hafsah Muzaffer
I'm a high school sophomore, whose interests range from math, science and CS to history and the political sciences. I have always been a curious learner, and this passion to seek knowledge led me to study well ahead of my grade since the age of 6, ultimately completing high school level content by 8th grade. But, among all these varying interests, two in particular stand out for me: Computer Science and MathematicsMy journey in computer science started as a 5th grader curious about the working of computers and software. One thing led to another, block coding in scratch became writing code in Python and SQL, and here I am, with computer science becoming a passion for life. I knew that Computer Science was the right field for me since it combined both of my main interests, and gives me the opportunity to incorporate my other varying interests, whenever I want to. I am particularly interested in integrating computer science with other STEM fields, and doing research on the same (incorporating yet another interest of mine). I am proficient in Python, SQL, JSON, XML, HTML and CSS; and am further expanding my skillset as you're reading this. When it comes to maths, I was always fascinated by this basic, yet complex and intricate subject that defined the basis of every other field. This fascination made me explore Calculus and Advanced Math in 7th grade. I started participating in math olympiads in 9th grade, qualifying IOQM as the youngest student from my state in 2023, and qualifying RMO on my first attempt as well. I possess a great interest in the field of research. In particular, I'm interested in research in areas near the intersection of CS with other STEM fields, along with the field of education, and am looking to pursue the same throughout high school and college. Similar to academic fields, my interests in non-academic fields vary to a great range as well - from quiz, MUN, speech and debate to trekking, skiing and basketball, I love exploring whatever comes in the way. And I'm always looking forward to a new adventure. So, here I am, all these interests and experiences helping me become who I am today, with one clear idea in my mind - to make a difference in the world.
