Haider has over 15 years’ experience in materials selection, welding and other maintenance processes, andnon-destructive testing techniques. A skilled engineer with expertise in leading materials engineering teams, he has a broad professional skill set and has worked for some of the most high-profile organisations in the industry.Haider has extensive international experience, having worked in Australia, Angola, Oman, Saudi Arabia,Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He has honed his management and interpersonal skills, leading and training teams of over 20 welding inspectors, material scientists and other engineering staff. Passionate about safety and compliance, Haider has been a valued member of various engineering and procurement teams, providing subject matter expertise on the selection of materials to meet rigorous international quality standards.Since relocating to Australia in 2017, Haider took on the role of Plant Integrity Engineer at the Ranger Mine in the Northern Territory for Energy Resources Australia and Rio Tinto. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring all assets were installed and maintained in accordance with relevant standards.Haider’s previous roles include Senior Engineer at Saipem Contracting, Materials and Inspection Engineerat Japanese Integrated Turbine Services, Metallurgist at SGS UK in Angola, and Metallurgical andInspection Engineer at Saudi Arabian Fertiliser. This experience has given Haider unparalleled insightinto materials testing, welding inspection, failure analysis and materials selection in various onshore andoffshore environments. He has led projects for clients such as Shell and Aramco, fostering continuousimprovement and increasing profitability for major projects.One of the most challenging and interesting projects in which Haider has been involved was the rebuildof a major facility damaged during the conflict in Iraq. With the process documentation and materialspecification sheets destroyed, Haider created a brand new preventative maintenance, corrosion protection and repair project plan, including auditing and investigating the site to assess the condition and nature of the materials.Haider holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgy and Materials) from Dawood College of Engineeringand Technology in Pakistan, and an International Welding Inspector qualification from the InternationalInstitute of Welding (IIW) in Germany.
