The National Youth Program for Skills Development, has organised the Omani Youth Tech Ideathon with the Support of Google, for almost around 600 participants who were selected part of the 1,000 Omani's in stage one of the program.This event started as a graduation ceremony the previous Thursday, 13th of Decemeber, and followed by the largest ideathon in 14th-15th of Decemeber, inviting more than 50+ experts and Googlers outside Oman. Oman’s Ideathon selects 100 projects to promote tech, and I am honored to be upon the selected 100 top projects in the Tech ideathon.

• Assess and identify the potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security and financial prosperity of the bank, including following the latest IFRS9 standards.• Implement processes and procedures to minimize threats and risks on the financial operations and capital of the bank.• Prescribe procedures for risk identification, measurement and assessment, as well as procedures for risk management according to Basel II standards.• Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management processes and policies for the organisation.• Carrying out processes such as reviewing insurance policies, implementing health and safety measures and making business continuity plans to limit risks and prepare scenarios.• Conduct various meetings with external consultants and internal staff to implement IFRS9 and the overall strategy of the bank - worked directly with various consultants including PWC (Price Water House Coopers), EY (Ernst & Young) and BCG (Boston Consultant Group) directors.• Prepare periodic reports for the risk committee, management, and the board members on the bank’s strategy development and implementation, IFRS9, and Risk Management.

- Support the maintenance of the risk management scenario framework for Bank Muscat- Collection of appropriate risk and control information for the scenarios from a wide range of sources- Preparation of operational risk loss data analysis for the including outlier analysis, data quality checks and technical investigations- Hold discussions and meetings with all the departments in the bank. Work in close collaboration with Branch Managers across Oman, and also with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to insurance and investment companies

• Ensure all policies within the bank are in place and are correctly followed.• Monitor the the bank’s procedures, and processes and make sure they are in place with the Central Bank’s requirements.• Create awareness and knoweldge to the departements and clients regarding the Key risk indicators, Know your customer policies, and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.• Ensure that the guidelines are clear, and are followed by each employee in order to protect the bank from any external and internal frauds. • On going communication and follow ups with various external authorities, including the Oman Royal Police, Central Bank of Oman, and Ministry of Finance.• Prepare compliance reports for the internal departments and related committees, with an executive summary to the management with the periodic updates.

The Special Task Force Division operates the Rescue Police patrols to react promptly for any urgent call for help. This division is considered a Police Reserve Force that is properly equipped and qualified to support the different Police headquarters in the Sultanate when the need arises.The Special Task Force guards and protects important personalities, national vital facilities, embassies, diplomatic missions and VIP's. It deals with explosives and de-activating them. It also issues permits for transporting, storage and use of commercial explosives.
